One of the most challenging books that I’ve written, dealing with the capture and murder of an Allied pilot and the post war investigation and war crimes trial. The research process was fascinating in itself, travelling to the location of the crime on the Dutch/German border, and meeting with witnesses, the family of witness and the families of the perpetrators.
