Next year will hopefully see the premiere of a new play ‘Coup de Grace’, based upon my book ‘Flightpath to Murder’. An Arts Council funding application is pending, and we recently held a readthrough with actors as we look to develop the script. As part of the ongoing research I have been looking at other war crimes trials, and have spent the day reading transcripts of the Doctors’ Trial, the prosecution of Nazi medical practitioners involved in human experimentation. If the evidence and testimony was not there in front of me, it would be beyond belief – the dehumanisation of individuals based on race, to a point at where they become subject to the most horrific procedures. How do we ever repay the debt we owe the generation that defeated the Nazis and their abhorrent ideology? By not forgetting!
